Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing professional patient care and assisting the Cardiologist, Vascular Surgeon, and/or Radiologist in performing cardiac diagnostic, interventional, and invasive radiology procedures of the cardiac, vascular, and circulatory systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in all procedures performed in the invasive cardiology area
• Support the medical care of all patients requiring cardiac or peripheral catheterization and/or intervention under the direction of the Medical Staff
• Utilize the patient care process to ensure safe and competent quality patient care

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Graduate of an approved School of Radiological Sciences or Allied Health Science or Cardiovascular Technologist Associate degree program
• Minimum of one to three years experience in Cardiac Catheterization procedures
• One to three years experience in a hospital setting as a Radiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist
• Basic knowledge of Cardiac Anatomy and EKG rhythms
• Medical Radiologist Technologist (MRT) through Texas Medical Board (TMB) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required for graduates from a Radiological Technologist program
• BLS for Healthcare Worker required
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment
• PALS certification required within 90 days of employment if caring for pediatric patients

The 178-bed facility offers Acute Care of the Elderly Unit, cardiology, diabetes care, emergency care, general surgery, kidney transplantation at the CHRISTUS Transplant Institute, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation and aquatic therapy, Senior Behavioral Health Center, urology, and the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center.
