Position Summary:

This dynamic role reports directly to the Field Service Supervisor and is integral to our service team. The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical liaison for our sales teams, supporting commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex field engineering tasks related to Battery Storage and PV systems.
  • Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning of Battery Storage systems and PV inverters, ensuring milestones are met for utility-scale clients.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance projects as required.
  • Engage in various engineering assignments related to the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of solar inverters.
  • Perform troubleshooting and testing of solar inverters and components, utilizing necessary equipment such as PQA and oscilloscopes.
  • Investigate solar plant issues, including DC array faults and inverter design challenges.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the engineering team regarding potential design enhancements.
  • Lead software and hardware upgrade projects in the field, communicating technical scopes to clients.
  • Collaborate with customer EMS/SCADA engineers to establish system communication and parameters.
  • Create field service procedures for troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
  • Assist in developing training materials for customers as requested.
  • Research alternative components for field applications.
  • Coordinate with R&D engineering for troubleshooting support as necessary.
  • Manage projects related to upgrades, retrofits, and commissioning independently.
  • Perform a variety of field service tasks, maintaining communication with Factory Engineering and solar plant engineers.
  • Work closely with engineering, logistics, finance, and program management teams to ensure optimal solar plant performance.
  • Support repair activities within the service center.
  • Prepare and submit detailed field reports to clients and management.
  • Contribute to the development of technical proposals, providing insights on scope and effort.
  • Conduct site visits and experimental investigations to analyze engineering challenges and propose solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the engineering field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Battery Storage systems and 2 years with solar inverters.
  • Proficient in using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and established procedures closely.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NSPA70A, and electrical safety standards.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is essential.
  • Experience in Power Electronics is required.
