Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled VP - Vendor and Risk Management to join our team at Summit Credit Union. This role is responsible for identifying and managing vendor risks, ensuring they align with our credit union's risk tolerance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Identification and Management: Proactively identify and manage vendor risks, ensuring they align with our credit union's risk tolerance and are effectively communicated in a timely manner.
  • Contract Management: Ensure third-party agreements contain language necessary to manage our risk to an acceptable level, hold third-parties accountable for meeting our business requirements/service levels, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Program Development and Maintenance: Develop, maintain, and test the Vendor Management, Business Continuity, and Incident Response programs in alignment with industry guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Records Management: Retain records efficiently, securely, and in alignment with best practices and regulatory guidance.
  • Staff Development and Training: Provide clear goals, constructive feedback, and necessary training and development to staff members.
  • Work Prioritization and Collaboration: Prioritize work in a manner that meets/exceeds stakeholder expectations and collaborate with stakeholders to develop creative solutions for managing risk within the credit union's risk tolerance.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field. Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in risk management, contract management, vendor management, or related field in the financial services industry.
  • Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze complex contractual documents and legal language. Sound contract and business judgment; ability to assess risk and balance legal and business considerations. Excellent working knowledge of contract law, concepts, and policies and procedures related to contract management. Knowledge of project management principles. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities according to importance and urgency and meet deadlines. Excellent organizational, time management, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.

Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.

Equipment Used: Variety of office equipment (telephone, printer, pc, mobile devices, etc.).
