Role Summary:

The Enrollment Advisor role at Louisiana State University is pivotal in promoting the institution and achieving enrollment goals. Under the guidance of the Associate Director, the advisor will effectively communicate LSU's offerings to prospective students and their families in various public forums. This position requires collaboration with colleagues to support the overall operations and strategic planning of the office. The advisor will manage a designated recruitment area, guiding students and families through the entire enrollment journey, from generating applications to finalizing their transition to the university, including orientation, housing, class registration, and transcript evaluations.

Territory Recruitment & Management (30%):
  • Actively represents the university at recruitment events, including high school visits, college fairs, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Assists in analyzing data to inform travel plans within the assigned recruitment territory.
  • Develops and nurtures relationships with key stakeholders, including secondary schools, community organizations, alumni, and professional groups.
  • Conducts personalized outreach to prospective students through various communication methods.
  • Supports the execution of large-scale recruitment and yield events both on and off campus.
  • Engages alumni and parents in volunteer programs to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Incorporates strategies for recruiting transfer students within the assigned territory.
Admissions Counseling (30%):
  • Provides guidance to prospective undergraduate applicants and their families regarding academic programs, extracurricular activities, and admissions processes.
  • Creates initial semester schedules for new students during orientation.
  • Advises incoming students leading up to their first semester through personalized appointments.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of LSU's academic and extracurricular offerings to effectively communicate the benefits of the undergraduate experience.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service to address prospective students' inquiries and concerns.
  • Works designated office hours to provide strong customer service through information sessions and other support activities.
Admissions Evaluation and Decision-Making (30%):
  • Assists in all aspects of application processing, review, and admission decisions.
  • Conducts timely reviews of applications from assigned high schools, ensuring thoroughness and fairness in decision-making.
Special Projects (10%):
  • Participates in various projects related to scholarship coordination, campus events, transfer populations, international admissions, diversity initiatives, and more.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a college admissions environment or working with college-bound students.
  • Master's Degree.
  • Proficiency in Spanish, both written and verbal, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of effective student recruitment practices.
  • Strong teamwork skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and superior communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to evaluate applications holistically.
  • Experience with CRM systems and technology utilization.
  • Commitment to data-driven decision-making and achieving objectives.
  • Dedication to diversity and inclusion.
Special Requirements:

Must possess a valid driver's license and undergo a background check, including a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. This position may require travel and work during evenings and weekends, particularly during peak periods.
