Recreation Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Recreation Assistant to join our team at Commander, Navy Installations. As a Recreation Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our patrons.
Key Responsibilities- Perform assigned duties and provide necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information and support of Community Recreation programs.
- May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties as needed.
- Be accountable for the accuracy of daily sales transactions and completes a Daily Activity Report (DAR) at the end of every shift.
- Provide customer service by greeting patrons in person and by answering the telephone; take messages and handle customer requests or referrals to the appropriate staff member.
- Perform administrative duties, all of which are accomplished through a variety of means, including computer software programs which tracks resource inventories.
- Ensure all rental or check-out forms are properly completed, and reservation and check-out procedures are followed.
- Research and provides information and referral for a variety of recreational opportunities for individuals/families on and off the base.
- Utilize the Property Management System (PMS) to access the guest information, retrieve reservation information, change or cancel reservations as requested by the guest, or register guests.
- Verify registration information, provide guest with their room key or card.
- Provide assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary.
- Register and assign rooms/space to guests, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms/spaces and guest accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting payments as necessary.
- One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties described above.
- Knowledge of daily front desk operations of a hotel or RV Parks highly preferred.
- Skill in basic math, reading, ability to handle control and account for large amounts of customer volume.
- Combination of experience related to customer service and or recreation activity based on functions.
- Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must have strong customer service skills, hospitality experience preferred.
- Knowledge of computers and office procedures.
