Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Smithfield Foods, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing data, drafting implementation plans for production process optimization, and leading small to medium complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze data to identify areas for process improvement
  • Draft implementation plans for production process optimization
  • Lead small to medium complex projects
  • Develop preliminary engineering designs and engineering and material specifications
  • Perform design work, including researching data and conducting feasibility and economic studies
  • Determine design criteria in accordance with required standards and codes
  • Perform field work and adapt collections to translate completed projects into as-built drawings
  • Review and check engineering projects submitted by plants for completeness, accuracy, and soundness of applied engineering principles
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in project engineering or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of fresh pork, meat processing, and case ready application
  • Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues
  • Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling
  • Project Management skills
  • Contract Administration skills
