About the Role

Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in our long-term care facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the effective use of personnel, supplies, equipment, and facilities to ensure the efficient delivery of patient care.
  • Review staffing patterns and census of nursing units, reassigning personnel as necessary to meet resident needs and budgetary controls.
  • Manage and analyze patient care following admission/readmission, conducting initial assessments for newly admitted or readmitted patients.
  • Assist in creating and implementing care plans that address individual residents' needs.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, gastronomy tube management, and wound care as needed.
  • Monitor residents and communicate changes to physicians.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of resident care and maintain medical records to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic care to residents.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate complaints, taking necessary action to resolve problems as needed.
Requirements
  • RN or LVN License in good standing.
  • 1 year of experience as a nurse, with experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality and react decisively in emergencies.
  • Exceptional supervisory skills, taking a proactive role in supervising and developing nursing teams.
  • Excellent training skills, ability to provide hands-on training to nursing staff.
  • Good problem-solving and independent thinking skills.
  • Case management skills, comfort with client relations.
