New York, New York, United States Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Full time

Company Overview:
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is dedicated to a singular mission: to eradicate cancer for life. Our specialized teams deliver personalized, compassionate, and expert care to patients across all age groups. Driven by groundbreaking research conducted at our Sloan Kettering Institute, our scientists collaborate to pioneer innovative translational and clinical research, enhancing our understanding of cancer and improving prevention, diagnosis, and treatment methodologies. MSK is committed to nurturing the next generation of scientists and clinicians who will further our mission both at MSK and globally. Recognized as one of the foremost comprehensive cancer centers, we have consistently ranked among the top two cancer hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for over three decades.

Job Description:
The Endocrinology Service within the Division of Subspecialty Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is in search of a full-time Academic Clinician at the Instructor level or higher, with a focus on patient care, education, and research. The successful candidate will engage in general endocrinology within a major cancer treatment facility, emphasizing endocrinopathies linked to oncological therapies, including immunotherapy-induced thyroid dysfunction, adrenal insufficiency, diabetes, and steroid-induced diabetes among other related conditions. While prior experience in managing endocrine complications of immunotherapy is preferred, it is not a prerequisite.

The Endocrinology Service comprises 13 physicians who provide consultations for a 500-bed hospital, outpatient clinics, and support for an expanding regional network. This service includes a multi-institutional ACGME-accredited fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, and incorporates advanced practice providers in clinical activities. In addition to a globally recognized program in thyroid cancer, the Endocrinology Service offers specialized expertise in pituitary disorders, adrenal tumors, metabolic bone disease associated with malignancies, hyperglycemia management in patients undergoing oncological treatment, and endocrine complications stemming from immunotherapies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical evaluations and manage patients with a diverse array of endocrine disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • In the outpatient environment, primarily concentrate on endocrinopathies associated with oncological treatments, including immunotherapy-induced thyroid dysfunction, adrenal insufficiency, and diabetes.
  • Advance our research initiatives focused on endocrinopathies related to cancer therapies by supporting accrual to clinical trials, observational studies, and the acquisition of biospecimens.
  • Engage as principal investigators or co-investigators on grants or contracts by competing for internal or external research funding to enhance our research efforts concerning endocrine complications of cancer therapies.
  • Contribute to educational and research missions by supervising Endocrinology fellows, medical residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
  • Participate in educational and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Serve on institutional and service committees.

Requirements Include:

  • MD, D.O., or equivalent with exceptional clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
  • Eligibility for New York and/or New Jersey State licensure.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Child Abuse Identification & Reporting.

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a CV, cover letter, career statement, and contact information for three references as part of their application. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Salary: $140,000 - $590,000

Physician compensation is determined by various factors. This range represents annual salary only and does not encompass supplemental performance-based pay or any one-time payments that eligible candidates may receive upon hire.
