Job Title: Network Architect

CRL Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to join our team. As a key member of our technical networking team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining classified National Security Systems that support Naval Aviation mission engineering and advanced development programs for Naval Air Systems Command.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network architecture, design, and implementation, as well as experience with network security, firewalls, and routing. You will work closely with our data architects and IT/cyber personnel to ensure that the network architecture/design complies with relevant IT/cyber methods, processes, and requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement new network solutions and/or integrate and improve the efficiency of current networks.
  • Install, configure, and support network equipment, including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved with network installation.
  • Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
  • Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Arrange scheduled upgrades.
  • Investigate faults in the network.
  • Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
  • Report network status to key stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 years of experience in defining, developing, and implementing network architecture strategies.
  • Meet the requirements of an Information Assurance Systems Architects and Engineers (IASAE) Level III as defined by DoD M.
  • Experience providing strategic technology direction and architecture vision, encompassing an enterprise view across a large portfolio of capabilities.
Desired Experience and Skills:
  • Architecting or implementing on-premise stand-alone network solutions, on-premise cloud solutions, virtual desktop infrastructure, high-performance computing, and processing, and cross-domain solutions.
  • Knowledge of digital engineering and model-based systems engineering.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, schedule-constrained, complex security environment.
  • Proficient in multiple Operating Systems, including Windows and Linux.
  • Expert knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, UDP, and routing.
  • Experience with network hardware and infrastructure, such as routers, hubs, servers, VPNs, and switches.
  • Knowledge of firewalls and security for network security.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking architecture, virtualization, and automation.
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting complex network issues.
