Key Responsibilities- Accurately transcribe physician orders and enter them into the computer system with RN validation
- Provide efficient communication, receptionist, and customer service activities related to the clerical aspect of the nursing unit
- Assist RNs, interdisciplinary team members, and physicians by obtaining charts, data, and information as requested during shifts
- Coordinate patient placement, transfers, and discharges through efficient notifications and processes
- Maintain accurate and complete charts, using organizational skills to prepare and compile documents
- Operate Omnicell and computer systems efficiently for order entries, inquiries, and charges
- Ensure a safe environment of care that promotes patient and personal well-being
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent programs
- Successful completion of a unit assistant course and/or training program, including medical terminology and computer skills
- Previous clerical experience and medical terminology preferred
- Computer skills and exposure to a healthcare setting preferred
