Job Title: Quantum Sensing Portfolio Action Officer

Are you a seasoned project management professional looking to leverage your skills in advancing research projects for next-generation quantum, photonics, sensing, and position, navigation, timing (PNT) applications? As an Action Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) with strategic consulting on research and development (R&D) to deploy technology beyond laboratory settings.

About the Opportunity

As an Action Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining organizational programs in support of DARPA and the DoD. You will work closely with government clients to track and evaluate the progress of sponsored research and communicate technical findings to a wide audience. Your expertise will be leveraged to help with tactical planning using resources like MS Project, and strategic evaluation of new concepts and assessments of technological gaps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage programs, projects, or teams developing novel technologies using Microsoft Project or other Project Management tools
  • Meet target milestones, timelines, and budgets for projects and programs
  • Communicate technical findings to a wide audience
  • Work closely with government clients to track and evaluate the progress of sponsored research
  • Coordinate actions and tasks with a team of financial, technical, and technology transition experts
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with program and project management
  • 3+ years of experience with authoring, editing, and proof-reading technical papers, presentations, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with managing programs, projects, or teams developing novel technologies using Microsoft Project or other Project Management tools
  • Ability to commute to Arlington, VA
  • Ability to travel at least 10% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with performing or supporting government-sponsored research activities
  • Experience with developing or managing programs and projects related to quantum, photonics, sensing, or PNT technologies
  • Experience with fabrication, clean-rooms, or wafer-scale handling and development
  • Experience in leading and coordinating teams with different and technical expertise
  • Experience in working with DARPA
  • Knowledge of the DoD program and project development process
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field
  • PMP Certification
