Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Production Gating Systems Assembler to join our team at Precision Castparts Corp. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assembling complex gating systems in a varied and non-repetitive fashion to produce mold forms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation
    • Inspect patterns and determine assembly methods
    • Read and follow technique card assembly instructions
  • Assembly
    • Assemble complex gating systems using torch, hot pencils, and hand tools
    • Weld gates into place using torch or hot pencil
    • Smoothe and gauge the area around each assembly contact
    • Modify gates to obtain proper fit
    • Hand fabricate elementary gating from raw stock
    • Develop code sheets for engineering-requested modifications
    • Inspect assemblies during and after the assembly process
  • Safety
    • Adhere to plant and department safety rules
    • Safely operate all equipment and tools
    • Identify and report safety problems
Requirements
  • Ability to apply pattern gating assembly techniques, methods, materials, fixturing, and construction
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others
  • Ability to work in a team environment and promote team development
  • Ability to read and follow complex written instructions
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds
  • Ability to work in conditions which may include exposure to noise, fumes, crowding, awkward physical positions, abrasions, cuts, and chemicals

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
