Job Summary:
As a key member of the DEPA team, the Assembler will play a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of high-quality products. This individual will be responsible for assembling fabricated parts into subassemblies and complete units, ensuring that all components meet the required tolerances and product specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble parts in established sequences and procedures to ensure quality of fit and operation.
- Examine components to be assembled to ensure they are correct, including size, material, and machining, and consult with supervisors or leaders on questionable issues.
- Operate pneumatic testing equipment to ensure the integrity of completed components.
- Adjust component parts to ensure proper fit.
- May assemble standard valves, specialty valves, and actuation equipment.
- Set up and perform special testing based on routing sheet specifications.
- Ensure that all routing sheet specifications are accomplished.
- Follow procedures for examining product quality regarding casting quality, machining, and fit.
- Verify and record heat numbers and material markings for various customers.
- Ensure special customer requirements are being followed and communicated properly.
- Participate actively in Crane Business Systems to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Complete RTY data recordings for quality and process issues as required.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly 5S requirements.
- Perform other work as assigned by supervisors or team leaders.
Requirements:
- Skilled in the care and use of applicable hand, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to work from verbal and written instructions, drawings, diagrams, and routing sheets.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High degree of physical and mental dexterity and visual attention for sustained periods required.
- Ability to sustain moderate physical effort, working with light to medium weight material.
- Basic math skills required.
- Lifting, bending, twisting, carrying, pushing, and pulling are common and repetitious.
- Concentrated mental and visual attention in working to close tolerances is required.
- High school education.
- Must have completed annual training on the proper handling of hazardous waste generated at the paint booth if assignments are associated with painting and/or the paint booth operation.
