Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist performs a range of diagnostic-imaging procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, including general radiography, mobile C-arm, portable x-ray exams, and Ortho Clinic. This role involves assisting physicians and radiologists as needed, and working under the direction of the department manager and coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiologic technology and be able to assess, treat, or care for patients of all age categories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic-imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Assist physicians and radiologists with exams and procedures as needed.
  • Work under the direction of the department manager and coordinator to ensure efficient and effective department operations.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of radiologic technology and its applications.
  • Assess, treat, or care for patients of all age categories, demonstrating age-specific competency.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Diagnostic Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification from the State of California as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Evidence of continuing education in the Science of Radiologic Technology.
  • CPR certification.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, with pediatric experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for up to 3 hours per day.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to bend and stoop for up to 3 hours per day.
  • Ability to reach for up to 6 hours per day.
  • Ability to use upper extremities for up to 6 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds, with assistance or equipment as needed.

This role requires the ability to hear alarms, clients, and/or instructions, as well as the ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20 feet. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
