Key Responsibilities- Perform regular security patrols of the facility to identify and prevent potential security threats.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide timely assistance to patients, employees, and visitors.
- Maintain knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, including safety and disaster plans.
- Operate hospital vehicles safely and enforce parking procedures.
- Participate in investigations and maintain records of security incidents.
- Consult with supervisors to discuss activities, needs, and problems.
- Care for and maintain department supplies and equipment.
- Attend staff meetings and in-services as required.
- Possession of a valid Oregon driver's license.
- Excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital's auto insurance policy.
- Ability to work without supervision and interpret/apply hospital policies and procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including sensitivity to multicultural issues.
- Good physical condition.
- One year of continuous recent security/law enforcement experience (civilian/military).
- BLS certification required by end of month from 60 days of hire and maintained.
- Advanced Avade Training (Code Gray) certification required by end of month from 90 days of hire and maintained.
- Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) certification required by end of month from six (6) months of hire and maintained.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds.
