As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, working collaboratively with the healthcare team, and making decisions that impact patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic, bedside care to patients, including vital sign collection and medication administration.
- Display professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner, prioritizing patient needs and safety.
- Perform triage, collect current symptoms, and record patients' current vital signs, as well as a detailed patient history.
- Work directly under physician's direction and/or policies/procedures, preparing and administering prescribed medications as needed.
- Provide Patient/Family Education, addressing their concerns and promoting health literacy.
- Manage basic life support needs and stabilize patients until the attending physician is available, based upon nursing standards and protocol.
- Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
- Maintain proper supply levels and appropriate medical equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- RN licensure in Minnesota.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification within 12 months of hire.
- TNCC certification within 24 months of hire.
- ENPC certification within 24 months of hire.
- ATCN or PALS certification may be substituted for TNCC or ENPC, respectively.
We prefer candidates with two years of emergency nursing experience and knowledge of nursing principles, policies, procedures, and hospital ethics.
