Police Cadet

The City of El Segundo is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our Police Cadet Program. As a Police Cadet, you will gain valuable experience and exposure to the inner workings of a municipal police department.

This is a part-time, non-benefited, at-will position that requires a minimum of 12 college semester units and a grade "C" average or higher. You will work an average of 19 hours per week and be responsible for performing various clerical and technical support tasks under general supervision.

• Assist with administrative tasks, including copying, shredding, and filing documents.
• Provide exceptional customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and providing information about Department procedures and services.
• Prepare routine reports and forms, and maintain accurate records.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks, including cleaning and washing police vehicles.
• Participate in special projects and events, and provide support to staff as needed.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of basic office practices and related equipment operation. You must also be able to work effectively in a team environment and establish positive relationships with colleagues and the public.
