Job Overview

Arrowleaf is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at the Clyffe Cafe in Vienna, IL. As a key member of our Developmental Services program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality food services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize the dining room, kitchen, and storage area to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Prepare and cook food in accordance with state food and nutrition guidelines, ensuring that meals are nutritious and appealing.
  • Monitor food temperatures and record them according to established policy and procedure.
  • Ensure that an adequate supply of food, supplies, and equipment is available at all times.
  • Follow recipes for planned weekly menus and ensure that food is prepared in accordance with established time schedules.
  • Label, date, and store food properly according to established policies.
  • Pick up and dispose of dining room and kitchen trash.
  • Report all health and safety concerns to the site coordinator.

Requirements:

  • GED/HS Diploma required; must obtain a food handlers manager's license within 30-60 days of hire.
  • Experience cooking in a commercial environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to lift 50 lbs. are also required.
