ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Under the direct guidance of a licensed pharmacist in a regulated pharmacy environment, you will engage in the technical, non-judgmental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record maintenance, and inventory oversight. Your tasks will be subject to verification by a registered nurse or pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities:
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Assist in the preparation of medication orders by compounding or mixing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Ensure all orders are complete and accurate.
- Under direct supervision, accurately mix medications as prescribed by the physician in a timely manner, adhering to departmental protocols and safety guidelines.
- Calculate appropriate dosage volumes, converting between measurement systems as needed.
- Dispose of all materials used in the preparation of IV medications properly.
- Maintain accurate temperature logs and documentation for all medications.
- Support inventory management and assist in the preparation of labels and billing.
Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent. Entry-level to three years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
