About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Scientist to join our interdisciplinary team at Novartis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for proposing, designing, and evaluating novel assays and chemotypes to tackle longstanding challenges in covalent ligand discovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effective communication and collaboration as a critical member of multi-disciplinary project teams in early stage drug discovery and covalency-enabled exploration of new modalities
  • Biochemical, biophysical, and cellular characterization of protein-ligand interactions, including MS-based characterization of covalent adducts on proteins
  • Medium-to-high throughput compound screening
Requirements:
  • PhD in Chemical Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biological Science with at least 2 years of related postdoctoral and/or industry experience
  • A background in covalent ligand discovery with an emphasis in biophysics or cellular studies and a working knowledge of organic chemistry
  • The ability to work collaboratively, with autonomy, and thrive in a multitasking environment
