Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Cook to join our team at Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital. As an Assistant Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of patient meals.
Responsibilities
* Verify meal counts and monitor special diet needs for patients
* Assist the cook in preparing and delivering patient meals
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
* Restock supplies and ingredients as needed
* Collaborate with the cook and dietary manager to ensure smooth meal service
* Participate in educational training and in-service meetings as required
Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
* Basic math skills and attention to detail
Working Conditions
* Work in a hospital kitchen environment
* Exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals
* Must be able to wear a hairnet and follow proper food safety protocols
