Position Overview
As a Culinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the health food department. Under general supervision, your responsibilities will include verifying meal deliveries for various facilities and ensuring that special dietary needs are met.
Your duties will encompass baking and other food preparation tasks, contributing to the overall quality of meal service.
Key Responsibilities

Assess the quantity of meals required for desserts, salads, and other preparations for patients and staff.
b.Review daily count sheets to determine the number of meals designated for delivery.
c. Assist in the packaging of meal trays for distribution.d.
Support the proper organization of walk-in refrigerator supplies and assist with dry storage.
e. Confirm with the culinary team that patients with specific dietary restrictions receive appropriate meals.
f. Deliver meals to designated areas and ensure they reach the intended recipients.
g. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen to uphold food safety standards.
h. Ensure that waste is disposed of properly at the end of your shift.
i. Prepare fruit and vegetable salads, baked goods, and other items as per the menu requirements.
j. Handle dishwashing duties for both meal and preparation items.
k. Compile grocery lists as needed for other departments.
l. Stock the refrigerator to maintain an adequate supply of essential items (e.g., milk, juice, dressings).
m. Participate in training sessions and in-service meetings as required.
n. Follow safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals.
o. Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, mixers, and ovens.
p. Uphold the confidentiality of all patient-related information.

Exhibit positive work habits, adhere to infection control policies, and demonstrate enthusiasm for dietary responsibilities.
r. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality during scheduled shifts.s. Ensure cleanliness in the prep area, dish room, and restrooms.
t. Communicate effectively with the culinary team regarding any relevant issues or supply needs.
Compensation
$17.50/hourly
