Role Summary: The Automotive Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of their assigned shifts, focusing on the upkeep of electrical and mechanical systems, production equipment, and overall facility maintenance. This role demands industry expertise to deliver operational improvements to OEMs and Tier 1 Suppliers through deep knowledge, analytical skills, and a commitment to implementing effective changes on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor maintenance effectiveness on the production floor.
  • Designing and executing a preventive maintenance strategy for machinery and equipment.
  • Providing training and support to the internal maintenance team to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions on the production floor.
  • Identifying and recommending enhancements for equipment reliability and maintainability.
  • Creating maintenance standards to streamline operations, adapt tools and procedures, and enhance equipment efficiency.
  • Advising on equipment needs and procurement to optimize production output.
  • Reviewing ongoing and completed jobs to confirm compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Managing the maintenance and operation of various facility systems to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Planning the arrangement of electrical and mechanical equipment; suggesting and implementing facility modifications.
  • Upholding Lean Principles within the production environment.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on organizational needs and expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional leadership and management capabilities with a proven ability to coordinate diverse teams and departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic systems, and PLCs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations relevant to plant operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to comprehend and operate facility systems and equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Physical Requirements: Regularly required to stand and use hands for handling or feeling. Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is expected. Occasional climbing or balancing, along with talking or hearing, is also required. The role involves regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
