Air Traffic Operations Coordinator

As a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) within a Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, organized, and efficient movement of air traffic.
Eligibility
- Current federal employees of the agency.
This position is available to permanent employees of the FAA across all regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide radar control for aircraft arriving or departing from the primary airport and nearby facilities, as well as for aircraft navigating through the airspace managed by the facility.
- Utilize radar and communication systems to enforce separation standards and implement vectoring protocols.
- Identify and rectify equipment malfunctions and interferences.
- Issue directives regarding speed, altitude, and direction to pilots to maintain safe distances between aircraft.
- Deliver advisory services to pilots, including operational clearances, weather updates, and safety alerts.
- Mentor and train developing air traffic controllers and other personnel within the facility.
- Execute technical duties related to training, briefings, quality assurance, and support functions.
- Oversee operations in the absence of a supervisor, ensuring continuous facility functionality.
- Initially work under direct supervision, transitioning to independent operation upon certification for required positions.
Qualifications
Employment Conditions
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Selective Service Registration is mandatory for males born after December 31, 1959.
- Submission of specific documentation is required.
- Participation in designated drug testing is necessary.
- Current medical certification is essential.
Applicants must have been rated or certified in an ATO terminal or en route facility.
Qualifications must be fulfilled by the closing date of this announcement.
