Job Summary

The Material Coordinator will be responsible for leading and coordinating resources within the tool room to ensure all tool/toolboxes, test equipment, and hazardous materials (Hazmat) are efficiently tracked and in line with quality standards, adhering to health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the requirements for the mobile calibration process, including equipment listing, pricing, and purchase requests/orders.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records to perform well during internal and external audits.
  • Monitor the completion of tasks to ensure good performance and customer service.
  • Receive, store, and issue hand tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies, and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment.
  • Maintain and update records of tool room equipment, tools, and kits.
  • Ensure tools are being calibrated, as required, and records are updated in the tool room database.
  • Keep records of tools issued to and returned by workers, search for lost or misplaced tools, and prepare periodic inventory.
  • Ensure tool room attendants are performing in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and updates are made as processes/requirements change.
  • Unpack and store equipment, report damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors, and track damaged material through the repair process.
  • Attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using an electric marking tool.
  • Attend Hazmat training courses to obtain Hazmat certifications, order Hazmat items as needed by the program, and assist four locations for the upkeep of Hazmat chemicals and inventory.
  • Identify sources of supply, procure, receive, and stock specialized tools, update material inventory, and manage government and commercially owned stock.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and at least 2 years of experience in inventory control and knowledge of a tool room environment.
  • Detail-oriented and good organizational skills.
  • Experience with inventory control.
  • Experience using Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Self-starter, motivated, and able to positively motivate others on the team.
