Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our Cyber Research and Development department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility with every other Friday off. As an individual contributor, you will apply mathematical and computational techniques to extract insights from large datasets and develop algorithms to operationalize those insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze complex data sets and create results in response to data analytics, visualization, and modeling needs on various computational architectures.
  • Apply advanced technologies, such as Explainable Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Large Language Models, and physics-informed machine learning methodologies.
  • Collaborate with domain experts to understand the scope and limits of questions that can be answered by data sets and design output metrics that describe system attributes and behavior.
  • Employ specialized methods and state-of-the-art data analysis and modeling tools to support the INL's mission.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree and 2 years of direct experience, or a Master's of Science degree and 0-2 years of direct experience; or a Doctorate and 0-2 years of direct experience.
  • Acceptable degrees are in data science, engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, autonomy, artificial intelligence, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience in data science, data analysis, and software development using Python, C#, Java, or C++.
