Role Overview:

The Senior Accountant position is tailored for an experienced individual responsible for overseeing a comprehensive array of accounting tasks in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including:
  • General Accounting: Account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, management of general ledger accruals, and supervision of month-end and period-end closing processes.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Preparation of financial statements, offering technical guidance during annual budget formulation, and contributing to financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Tax & Compliance: Management of local tax submissions, sales and use tax return filings, annual property tax return preparations, and ensuring compliance for ESOP and 401k plans at year-end.
  • Asset & Cash Management: Management of fixed assets and lease schedules, execution of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow monitoring and forecasting, and maintenance of stock schedules.
  • Budgeting & Strategic Planning: Support for the annual budgeting process, assessment of potential acquisitions, and provision of financial support and training to team members.
  • Audit & Process Improvement: Assistance with audits, review and enhancement of processes and internal controls, and development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Leadership & Communication: Preparation of materials for board meetings, resolution of discrepancies with senior management, and driving outcomes to align with the organization's strategic objectives.
Candidate Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in General Ledger.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software applications.
