About the Role

The Austen Riggs Center Inc is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building and Grounds Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of our buildings and grounds, including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance of mechanical equipment, appliances, plumbing, heating units, air-conditioning, locks, wood works, and other communications systems.
  • Quality Assessments: Conduct quality assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend preventative maintenance solutions.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and visitors, responding to maintenance requests and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years general maintenance experience working in construction or structured maintenance setting required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in technical disciplines including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC systems, painting, and computer literacy.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with staff, patients, and visitors, maintaining boundaries and patients' rights at all times.
  • Certifications: Current driver's license with good driving record and hoisting and skid steer license required.
