Cardiovascular Care Professional Opportunity

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to a culture of excellence and compassion.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with 3 12-hour shifts, self-scheduling, and a 12-week orientation. You will work in an 8-bed unit, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and provide individualized attention to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
  • Document patient care given and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Adhere to all core measure initiatives, patient safety goals, and NQF Safe Practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire, ACLS and PALS within six months of hire, and one year of experience preferred.
