Job Title: Lighting Lead

At Light Art Defunct, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lighting Lead to join our team. As a Lighting Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the lighting lab, ensuring the safety and quality of our products, and leading a team of individuals to assemble lighting lids, cores, LEDs, and other components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a working lead responsible for the safety, quality, and delivery of products coming from the lighting lab.
  • Lead a team of individuals to assemble lighting lids, cores, LEDs, and other components.
  • Help troubleshoot customer issues onsite.
  • Read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Identify electrical problems using various testing devices.
  • Maintain UL/SGS listings by completing all necessary forms and labeling.
  • Develop problem-solving skills both electrically and personally with the team.
  • Ensure the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Contribute to creating a safe and injury-free workplace.
  • Produce quality products for the assembly line.
  • Deliver lighting to the assembly floor on time.
  • Load up lighting pictures to My3Form under the CO# for every fixture.
  • Lead the team to deliver quality products on time.
  • Track the quality of products produced.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the assembly floor.
  • Troubleshoot infield issues.
  • Work with the research and development department regularly.
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Set clear team goals.
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation.
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics.
  • Motivate team members.
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching.
  • Listen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.
  • Encourage creativity and risk-taking.
  • Suggest and organize team-building activities.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Lighting or electrical background is a plus.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and team members.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near power hand tools. The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions (non-weather). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Occasionally. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally. The employee must be able to work on their feet, including standing and walking. The employee must be able to work in and around production equipment, which includes occasionally climbing stairs, ladders, bending, stooping, standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. The employee must be able to see and hear to visually and audibly acknowledge critical safety instructions, alarms, forklift traffic, perform quality inspections, and equipment inspections.
