Position Summary:The Security Officer will be responsible for safeguarding company assets as well as ensuring the safety of employees and visitors from potential criminal threats. This role also involves implementing security protocols for DCM, Inc.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct regular patrols and monitor activities on the premises to deter criminal behavior and maintain a secure environment.
- Report any suspicious activities to the General Manager and ensure timely communication with relevant staff.
- Maintain constant communication with the General Manager and fellow security personnel, responding promptly to emergency situations.
- Escort vendors and visitors entering the facility.
- Assist emergency services during safety drills and in real emergency situations.
- Monitor CCTV systems for any unusual activities throughout the facility.
- Prepare detailed reports on daily activities and incidents for management review.
- Contact law enforcement or fire services in case of emergencies.
- Perform security checks after hours to ensure all access points are secure.
- Investigate reports of suspicious behavior on the property.
- Detain individuals suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
- Provide escort services for discharged employees and unauthorized individuals off the premises.
- Act as a backup delivery driver when necessary.
- Perform other duties as required.
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a security-related role.
- A valid driver's license is necessary.
- Security Guard training certification is preferred.
Successful candidates will possess:
- Flexibility to meet scheduling needs, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong personal accountability and proactive behavior.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Outstanding observational skills.
- The ability to navigate the property and access areas swiftly.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- The capacity to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
- A willingness to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
This position requires on-site work five days a week.
Physical Requirements:The role involves significant physical activity, including:
- Frequent sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, and reaching.
- The ability to lift and carry loads up to 75 lbs.
- Working both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
- Monitoring surveillance equipment for extended periods.
