Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to fill a key position in the Stem Cell Laboratory. As a critical member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties in the Stem Cell Laboratory.
- Utilize scientific principles, technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations.
- Ensure quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance, and corrective action.
- Correlate test results and provide clinical laboratory-related continuing education.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and completion of NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program, or a Bachelors degree and one to two years of experience/training acceptable to the ASCP or AMT for the Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- At least six months of experience in blood banking is required.
- Experience in stem cell handling/processing is preferred.
- Experience in flow cytometry is preferred.
- Experience in molecular biology is preferred.
- A competitive hourly rate of $41.50 per hour.
