Position Overview

As a key member of our finance team, you will oversee advanced accounting and reporting responsibilities, ensuring the integrity of financial operations.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Preparation of month-end journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Management of ongoing grant reporting and billing processes.
  • Execution of payroll processing and financial statement preparation and analysis.

Additionally, you will play a vital role in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual accounting activities, assisting with year-end closing, audits, and budgeting processes. You will also be responsible for overseeing grant financial management and reporting in compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
  • A degree from an accredited four-year institution in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of senior-level experience in a non-profit environment, with a comprehensive understanding of finance team operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, grants, and general accounting.

We seek individuals who can perform their duties with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating a strong grasp of applicable accounting standards and practices.

Skills and Experience

Ideal candidates will have:
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent customer service skills to support both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A working knowledge of federal and state grant regulations, including budget oversight and reporting.
  • The ability to analyze complex accounting processes and propose improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • A keen attention to detail and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues.

Moreover, you should be capable of supervising department staff and collaborating effectively across the organization to achieve shared goals.
