About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team at Mission Veterinary Partners. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications, assist with treatments, diagnostics, and monitoring, and perform various medical procedures as needed.
  • Assist with anesthesia and surgery, including prep, induction, maintenance, and recovery of patients.
  • Provide patient dental care, including ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, and assist with dental surgery.
  • Position patients and assist with radiographs, and send radiographs via email as needed.
  • Collect, prepare, and run or submit samples for requested tests, and read and record results when indicated.
  • Prepare invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools, and communicate with clients regarding hospitalized patients.
  • Teach and educate clients on at-home care procedures, and assist with veterinary technician appointments, including blood draws and post-op checks.
  • Assist with reception and front desk duties as needed, including answering phones and booking appointments.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new team members, and help with inventory control and preparing prescriptions.
Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb, and manipulate up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
  • Ability to endure sitting, standing, and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment.
  • Ability to work with a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
  • Good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
