Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Provide direction and guidance to laboratory staff, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve laboratory efficiency, productivity, and quality.
    • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and coaching to help them achieve their goals.
  • Quality Assurance and Control
    • Ensure that all laboratory activities are conducted in accordance with established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
    • Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues that may arise.
  • Operations and Logistics
    • Oversee the procurement and management of laboratory supplies and equipment.
    • Develop and implement procedures for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
    • Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Communicate laboratory results and findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that laboratory activities are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in the field of laboratory medicine.
    • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance knowledge and skills.
    • Contribute to the development of laboratory policies and procedures.
    Requirements
    • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a medical technologist or equivalent in a clinical Core Lab environment.
    • BS/BA degree in Medical Technology or related field.
    • ASCP Certification.
    • Proven leadership, interpersonal, communication, computer, and technical skills in the specialty area being supervised.
