Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team. As an ICU RN, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in our ICU. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in critical care nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses to interventions.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Requirements:
  • Current RN license issued by a State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in critical care nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
