Your expertise will be essential in maintaining fluid balance, homeostasis, and monitoring patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients pre-operatively through interviews and examinations, reviewing relevant information from their charts.
- Select anesthetic agents in collaboration with the Anesthesiologist, considering the patient's pre-operative examination and medical history.
- Monitor patients' responses to pre-medication and communicate with the surgeon and Anesthesiologist regarding any special concerns.
- Check anesthesia equipment daily and between cases to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Administer anesthesia in accordance with clinical privileges and any conditions or restrictions imposed.
- Evaluate patients' operative and post-operative conditions, taking necessary action to maintain stability.
- Precept student nurse anesthetists and maintain accurate records of controlled substances.
- Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools.
- Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications.
- Experience in anesthesia for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement for various age group patients.
- A hiring manager may specify Preferred Qualifications, which are desirable and above and beyond the requirements specified in the Minimum Qualifications section.
