Position Overview:
The Acute Pain Service Registered Nurse (RN) is a dedicated healthcare professional responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
This role involves utilizing the nursing process through advanced technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practices, and collaboration with other healthcare team members.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and address the psychological and physical needs of patients, recognizing that each day presents unique challenges.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality care with a focus on the well-being of patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and their families.
- Collaborate in the development of personalized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Adhere to established evaluation, treatment, and documentation protocols.
- Supervise care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Engage in clinical team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
- Follow institutional, regulatory, and professional standards, policies, and procedures.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is mandatory.
Registered Nurses holding an ASN/ADN degree are required to complete a BSN degree within four years of hire, unless they possess a minimum of fifteen years of continuous RN experience in an acute care environment.
Licensure:A valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice is essential.
Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) is required upon hire or must be obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
Physical Requirements:Ability to see and read information, assess patient needs, operate medical equipment, and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Frequent interaction with patients and care providers requires clear verbal communication and the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
Manual dexterity is necessary for operating delicate equipment and performing documentation tasks.Physical stamina is required for lifting, transferring patients, and navigating busy environments.
Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
