Job Title: Social Worker for Multilingual Learners

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at the Pawtucket School Department. As a Social Worker for Multilingual Learners, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students who are English language learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students who are struggling with behavioral, mental, or emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to develop and implement individualized plans to support student success.
  • Conduct social assessments and adaptive behavior skills assessments to determine student needs.
  • Develop and implement crisis intervention plans to support students in times of need.
  • Provide support and resources to students and families to help them navigate the school system and access community resources.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field.
  • RI School Social Workers PK-12 Certificate.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students from urban areas.
  • Experience working with students with Autism and behavioral/social/emotional challenges.
  • Experience with diversity and cultural competence.
