Job Title: MLL Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated MLL Social Worker to join our team at the Pawtucket School Department. As a key member of our student support services team, you will play a vital role in providing behavioral, mental, and emotional support to our MLL students.

Job Summary:

The MLL Social Worker will work closely with students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel to identify and address the unique needs of our MLL students. This includes providing individual and group counseling, consulting with parents and teachers, and arranging for medical and psychiatric evaluations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide behavioral, mental, and emotional support to MLL students
  • Consult with parents and teachers to identify and address student needs
  • Arrange for medical and psychiatric evaluations as needed
  • Develop and implement individualized behavioral programs for MLL students
  • Provide individual and group counseling to MLL students and their families
  • Collaborate with school personnel to develop and implement strategies to support MLL students
  • Participate in meetings such as Response to Intervention (RTI), Section 504/ADA, and Special Education evaluation/IEP meetings
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field
  • RI School Social Workers PK-12 Certificate
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of laws governing MLL and related regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual
  • Experience working with students from urban areas
  • Desire to work with middle school students and young adults
  • Experience working with students with Autism and behavioral/social/emotional challenges
