Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutrition and Dining Services Technician III to join our team at Bryan Health. As a key member of our nutrition services team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to food preparation, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate menu selections for patients and complete menu system processes using Nutrition and Dining Services software.
  2. Prepare and assemble a variety of hot and cold food or beverage items relevant to your area of assignment.
  3. Assess the quality of ingredients or products prior to use and accurately assemble ingredients in accordance with established recipes and procedures.
  4. Practice safe food handling and storage techniques to prevent foodborne illness and cross-contamination.
  5. Receive, store, and distribute food, supplies, and equipment in a timely manner.
  6. Rotate stock in accordance with department procedures and assist in conducting physical inventory to support purchasing activities.
  7. Prepare and measure/weigh special food/formulas/nourishments for patients on therapeutic diets.
  8. Deliver nourishments and tube feedings to nursing units at designated times.
  9. Monitor patient tube feedings per physician orders.
  10. Act as a liaison between Nursing Service and Nutrition and Dining Services to receive phone/computer orders and expedite subsequent food service requirements.
  11. Serve as a lead worker/facilitator overseeing and checking patient tray assembly for designated meals.
  12. Introduce new patients to department services and provide information on meal service and menu selections.
  13. Work collaboratively with the Clinical Dietitian and Dietetic Technician to address nutrition issues or concerns with patients.
  14. Set up/supply service lines with food, utensils, and related service supplies.
  15. Accurately and efficiently operate cash registers on serving lines.
  16. Serve customers in an efficient, courteous manner in retail, physician, and catering operations.
Requirements

We require a High School diploma or equivalency and a Food Handlers permit. You must be 16 years of age or older to apply, and 18 years of age to legally operate floor mixers, motorized slicers, or cook on open flame grill surfaces.
