Job Summary

Penn State University is seeking a skilled Food Production Worker B to join their team in Campus Retail Dining. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for preparing salads, salad dressings, appetizers, fruit, jello, and sandwich spreads, following simple recipes and cooking methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare salads and other food items according to menus and recipes
  • Check products for quality and presentation
  • Disassemble and store salad ingredients properly
  • Work on the serving counter and other areas of food production as required
  • Move foods to and from the serving counter as needed
  • Under the direction of the first or second cook, prepare vegetables and other food items following established methods and recipes
  • Operate and clean equipment such as mixers, choppers, cutters, and slicers
  • Perform periodic and special cleaning duties as required
  • Perform other duties related to food preparation and production
Requirements
  • Requires the use of commercial English, grammar, and arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as decimals and fractions
  • Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, and adjustable measuring instruments
  • Over 1 and up to 3 months of effective experience in a related field
Work Schedule and Benefits

The work schedule for this position is 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday off.
