LPN - Med/Surg Observation and Palliative Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Observation and Palliative Care unit at Mount Carmel St. Ann's. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative support and patient care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
- Direct unlicensed staff in work-related activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Use assessment skills to collect data and collaborate with RN to discuss next steps in patient care.
- Communicate pertinent clinical information to appropriate members of the patient care team.
- Provide patient and family education under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Identify discharge needs, participate in planning, and complete continuity of care forms as appropriate.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, house staff, registered nurses, and other healthcare disciplines regarding patient care.
- Perform treatments and procedures according to approved standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Successful completion of an approved Pharmacology Course with NAPNES Certification, OOPNES Certification, or Ohio Board of Nursing Card.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
- Licensure: Current license in good standing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Ohio.
- Certification: Current BLS/CPR and maintain current certification; IV certification preferred.
