Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to join our team at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of nursing professionals to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and management for a designated time period (shift) for a patient care unit (or clinical service in operative and ambulatory settings)
  • Assist the Nurse Manager in developing and sustaining an environment of excellence in patient/family service, growth and development of staff, and to apply evidence-based practice to improve patient care
  • Identify, initiate investigation, and proactively respond to potential and actual risk management issues per standards and institutional policies
  • Ensure timely and appropriate reporting and follow-up, and notify Nurse Manager and/or nursing leadership on duty depending on severity of incident
Requirements
  • Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required, Master's degree preferred
  • A minimum of two years of clinical practice in the care of the patient population served
  • Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion which addresses patient/family satisfaction
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in clinical specialty or Nursing Administration preferred
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
