Radiologic Technologist

The X-Ray OR Radiologic Technologist is responsible for delivering high-quality imaging services by executing precise scans in accordance with physician directives and specific protocols. This role involves assisting in the operating room and during interventional procedures, as required, across diagnostic and CT/MRI modalities. The technologist will ensure the safe operation of CT/MRI or X-ray machinery, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and the ALARA principle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts radiographic procedures utilizing appropriate technical factors, develops x-ray films, and verifies each film for correct positioning and exposure.
- Demonstrates proficiency in operating Radiology equipment and ensuring optimal exposure.
- Adheres to radiation safety protocols, implementing ALARA techniques in all performed procedures.
- Completes all mandated quality control checks and maintains accurate quality control logs, including ACR requirements and service records.
- Reviews requisitions and physician orders, noting patient conditions and any special instructions.
- Facilitates patient flow to enhance comfort and efficiency.
- Establishes priorities and effectively assesses situations to make informed decisions aligned with job responsibilities.
- Recognizes and accommodates the unique needs of patients based on age and risk factors during diagnostic procedures.
- Engages in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities.
- Exhibits flexibility in staffing and scheduling to address departmental and hospital needs.
- Assists in various advanced procedures, including but not limited to arthrograms, myelograms, lumbar punctures, and biopsies.
Qualifications:
- ARRT Registered in X-ray and other modalities or registry eligible.
- Preferred: One (1) year of patient care experience in Radiology.
- Licensed by the Texas Department of Health as a Medical Radiologic Technologist – General License.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Willingness to participate in departmental call rotation and availability for holidays and varied shifts.
