About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma collected from donors. Your expertise in medical procedures and patient care will be essential in determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results.

You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure that all medical procedures are conducted in accordance with regulatory guidelines and BioLife's standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Determining donor eligibility through medical history interviews, physical examinations, and laboratory testing
  • Managing donor adverse events and referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed
  • Reviewing laboratory test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results
  • Supporting the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Managing employee incidents and referring to EHS guidance as needed

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Current licensure or certification as an EMT-Paramedic in the state where responsibilities will be assigned
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactory completion of FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting
