Key Responsibilities:

The Shipping Coordinator will be accountable for:

  • Ensuring that order quantities align with shipping documents through meticulous audits, addressing any discrepancies, and identifying root causes along with corrective measures.
  • Facilitating the coordination and scheduling of customer carrier pickups, ensuring that drivers have the necessary documentation.
  • Confirming the physical shipment of products and overseeing package tracking.
  • Collaborating with carriers and freight forwarders to arrange the pickup of goods.
  • Utilizing a warehouse management system to generate precise bills of lading for outgoing shipments.
  • Handling tracer inquiries via email, phone, or fax as needed.
  • Processing invoices for payment to the appropriate office.
  • Coordinating the activities of shipping material handlers on the dock.
  • Compiling necessary management reports as required.
  • Ensuring efficient and accurate staging and loading of trucks to meet delivery commitments.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting of shipping transactions.
  • Documenting damages and discrepancies for accounting and record-keeping purposes.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in shipping or administrative support.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office/Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Capability to engage with diverse groups effectively.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team.

Education/Certification:

A High School Diploma or GED is required.
