Job Summary

Synovus Financial seeks a skilled Relationship Banker to join our team. As a key member of our retail branch, you will serve as the primary point of contact for consumer and small business customers, providing expert guidance and support to help them achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to understand their financial needs and develop tailored solutions to meet their objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to identify and pursue new business opportunities, driving growth and revenue for the bank.
  • Develop and maintain a diverse loan portfolio, including consumer, small business, and real estate loans.
  • Utilize sales management tools to proactively identify, retain, and deepen customer relationships, as well as identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Partner with branch management to prepare for sales calls, adding value and strengthening personal relationships with customers.
  • Conduct outside calling to small business owners, collaborating with business partners to strategize and develop comprehensive banking relationships.
  • Work closely with bankers to maintain a consistent deposit and loan pipeline, developing referral sources to generate business.
  • Meet or exceed individual performance sales, referral, and activity goals, supporting the goals of the branch and company.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community-based organizations in support of bank goals and programs.
  • Participate in daily kick-off and huddle activities, weekly sales meetings, and sales and training activities, championing products and sharing sales tips.
  • Perform proactive outreach to customers and prospects during sales campaigns and promotions, opening and servicing accounts as needed.
  • Interview consumer and small business loan applicants, processing and closing loans as required, following established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all operational tasks are completed, and all exceptions are cleared in a timely manner, adhering to Branch Operations Standards, policies, and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate with leadership and coworkers to promote a positive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of job-related experience, preferably in a banking, sales, or customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of bank services and products, aptitude for consultative selling, and ability to establish, maintain, and deepen customer relationships.
  • Knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and strong customer service skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
