Position Details
WORK LOCATION: Elizabethtown, PA
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time 1.0 FTE (80 hours/2 weeks); four days per week 7:15am-4:30pm; one day per week 7:15am-12:15pm; one evening per week; one weekend per month.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Qualified candidates must possess the capability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to execute the following tasks:
- Act as a subject matter expert and resource for all clinical personnel. Provide guidance and support to clinical staff as needed.
- Offer clinical advice via phone/electronic communication based on clinical assessments and/or triage protocols in alignment with regulatory standards and best practices. Consult with healthcare providers as necessary.
- Deliver patient-specific education covering preventive care, chronic disease management, acute diagnoses, medications, and other relevant areas affecting patient outcomes.
- Welcome and escort patients to examination rooms, preparing them for consultations with healthcare providers.
- Following established protocols, verify patient information by interviewing them to gather essential medical details. Accurately document medical and social history and the purpose of the visit in the patient record.
- Prepare patients for examinations by measuring vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and accurately record this information in the patient chart.
- Review and update the current medication list, making necessary adjustments. Address medication-related concerns with patients and provide education on potential side effects.
- Administer injections and medications as prescribed by the healthcare provider, adhering to departmental protocols, regulatory requirements, and standards of practice.
- Assist healthcare providers with various procedures, minor surgeries, and examinations as designated.
- Implement standing orders as established by the medical group.
- Conduct various tests at the request of the provider, including but not limited to hearing tests, EKGs, breathing treatments, and vision tests.
- Collect blood or other laboratory specimens and prepare them for further analysis.
- Authorize prescription refills as directed by the provider.
- Assist with tracking tests and monitoring overdue results.
- Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary.
- Ensure examination rooms are adequately stocked and cleaned after each patient visit. Maintain and sanitize medical instruments and equipment post-procedure.
- Support the provider and patient in reviewing and adjusting care plans, assessing patient progress, and following up as necessary.
- Engage in proactive outreach for patients needing preventive and chronic disease services.
- Facilitate care coordination among specialists and transitions of care to obtain all necessary patient information.
- Assist in coordinating referrals, education, and community resources.
- Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing overall patient experience and quality of care.
- Participate in daily team meetings with the provider.
- Serve as a patient experience advocate, maintaining a positive demeanor during interactions with patients, visitors, and colleagues. Communicate professionally with all stakeholders while prioritizing customer service.
- Handle all patient information confidentially in accordance with privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Provide input into performance evaluations for clinical staff as requested by management.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities for this position as required.

- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of nursing experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
- AHA CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience in a clinical environment.
