Job Summary

KBR is seeking a highly skilled 3D Printing Lab Technician to join our team in a collaborative environment. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supporting our 3D printing operations, collaborating with designers and engineers, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our 3D printing lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Designers and Engineers: Work closely with designers and engineers to understand project requirements and objectives, ensuring accurate and feasible 3D models for printing.
  • Utilize CAD Software: Create and modify 3D models using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and feasibility for printing.
  • Operate and Maintain 3D Printers: Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot 3D printers, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Conduct Quality Control: Verify adherence to specifications and standards through quality control checks on printed objects.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of 3D printing materials and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Lab Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the 3D printing lab, including equipment upkeep and workspace tidiness.
  • Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date with advancements in 3D printing technologies and techniques, proposing innovative solutions to improve processes.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to team members on 3D printing best practices and safety protocols.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot technical issues with 3D printers, such as software errors, filament jams, and print failures.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 years of recent and related work experience, or 5 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Skills: Proven experience working with 3D printing technologies and CAD software, strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and demonstrated ability to operate and maintain various types of 3D printers.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication and collaboration abilities, and ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace Experience: Familiarity with post-processing techniques for 3D printed objects and experience using PDM is preferred.
